Post-Partum
Depression

This wasn’t in your baby books

The baby is crying. Again. The laundry is overflowing, and the sink is full of dirty dishes. You don’t even remember the last time you slept more than a few hours.

Adjusting to life as a new mom is difficult. No number of baby books can prepare you for the real deal.

You’re not the same person that you used to be – and that’s okay.

What does postpartum depression feel like?

Postpartum depression is real, and it’s raw.

You feel guilty because you should feel overjoyed.

You feel shame because you don’t feel like those happy moms on social media.

You’re confused, lost, tired, and sad.

Part of you is grateful to have this little one and part of you feels overwhelmed and resentful.

Then one day..

You blink – and they’re teenagers. You trade picture books for homework assignments and teddy bears for video games.

Your toddler is officially a hormonal teen. Throw in sports practice, music lessons, and dance – and don’t forget their friends!

Those early years seemed like time slooowed down and now you look back at “the good times.”

It’s not easy for you or your child to adjust to the new school, many transitions in-between, and all the unsolicited advice that comes with it.

Let’s lift your fog

No one talks about the depression that can creep in after birth. No one talks about how hard it is to readjust to your new life as a woman, a mother, or a partner.

Let’s talk about it together. Let’s lift this sadness and fatigue, so you can become the mom you want to be. I can help.

Therapy helps

You are so brave for being here. Postpartum depression isn’t easy to talk about, but counseling helps.

Maybe you’re unsure if it’s depression or maybe you don’t know what’s going on.

Let’s have a free 15-minute phone consultation to see how I can help.

My offices are in Lower Westchester, but I do phone and video consults, too!
